HANDSOME 1940s ORIGINAL PATRIOTIC V FOR VICTORY WORLD WAR II DIE-CUT CARDBOARD ADVERTISING SIGN SHOWED SUPPORT FOR OUR FIGHTING MEN & WOMEN!  Hang around the old VFW halls in the Chicago suburbs for long enough and the vet’s conversation will turn to the big one—World War 2.  One Saturday afternoon, during a poker game, and several rounds of beer, the post commander said he was cleaning up some old storage files and found this sign.  He said, “back then, people were proud of their fighting men and women and took every advantage to show their support.” We finished the game and over a few more beers the commander said he would get some items out to inspect.  Long story short, a good size donation of cash was made to the VFW treasury and I left with some goodies – including this sign. The photos show both front and back views. It's 6 ½-inches tall, over 70 years old with only minor aging. Winning bidder adds .00 for First Class Mail. Good luck on the auction!
