Description
Genuine photo postcard showing models representing the clientele of the Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei enjoying the comfort of and view from the starboard promenade of the airship Hindenburg, surpassing the speed and comfort of any other means of crossing the North and South Atlantic when introduced in 1936. Just to the left one can see the chairs and a table of the lounge. Along with the pioneering Graf Zeppelin, in service since 1928, and in regular South Atlantic service since 1932, Hindenburg was a sensation surpassing the ugliness of the brown shirt regime to capture the imaginations of the public and business of patrons. Loss of Hindenburg in 1937 put a stop to things, though service could have been resumed a year later with the new LZ 130 if not for political intrigues in Washington and Berlin. Card is as fresh as when it was produced 85 ears ago and unused condition. Thanks for looking at this and my other auctions.
