Author Paul Withers presented this title on ALCo’s Century-series, officially introduced in 1963 with the C-424, C-425, and C-624. These were ALCo’s answer to GM/EMD’s 2,250hp GP-30 and GE’s 2,500hp U-25. This reference begins with a history of ALCo’s development of the Century series, followed by a roster of all owners and a chronological listing of units produced. Withers’ book then discusses all 4-axle entrants including C-415, C-420, C-424, C-425, and C-430. A 24-page color section completes the book. This is a 168-page softcover. Printed on gloss paper.
