Description
Antique Japanese Kutani Meiji Period Porcelain Hand Painted Cup and Saucer. This set is assigned with the maker and the Kutani mark. It dates from the late 1800s to the first decade of the 1900s, it is Pre WWI. This is absolutely gorgeous! This is technically new Kutani and not old Kutani (Kokutani 1700's) but, it's not the more sloppily made renaissance version popular in the '50s. It is painstakingly, painted and totally stunning. The gold has held up well. There is a small chip on the foot, please see pictures. This price is reflective of the chip. These are both signed with matching signatures and subject on the cup and the saucer. The cup itself is incredibly light and almost feels like eggshell porcelain with the saucer being a bit heavier.

About me:
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Interior Design in '97. I worked in the field for 20 years successfully until having twins with medical issues. This necessitated my transition to a different kind of work and staying home with them. Recently, I have reignited my passion for design with my (mostly) vintage and antiques eBay business. I'm very small but I get to handle all aspects and make sure my customers are happy. I find it very fulfilling to find hidden treasures for others to enjoy! In a strange way, it keeps me in touch with my design roots and helps make a little money to participate in paying bills for my family. Thank you so much for looking and for your purchase, I really appreciate you!
