Description
This is an antique Japanese sakazuki sake cup that dates back to the Taisho era (c.1920) . It is all hand turned cryptomeria wood with over 20 thin coats of Japanese red lacquer with makie (raised gold) design of family crest and anchor (see pictures 3 & 4). It has a signature on the bottom,Kunigou soldier
(see pictures 7 & 8 ).
Having been in storage for nearly a
century
,
this sakazuki
remains in
excellent
condition
. It measures 5" in diameter by 1 3/4" tall (12.5 x 4.5 cm). It comes with the wooden presentation box.
