Antique, Signed, ca. Meiji Period, Hand-painted Kutani 4 Cups & Saucer Sets + 2 BONUS Cups (same pattern, no saucer).
Gorgeous
hand painted
sets,
featuring gilded brocade pattern, depicting Geisha with mountain scene in background.
Stunning pieces, with the exception of one saucer in near mint condition, free of any cracks, large chips or previous repairs, some minor age appropriate pitting, nicks along the edges, wear on paint and gilding, minimal to be expected imperfections / glaze contractions.
Note small chip near edge of plate in the light blue background (see picture 10, center left & picture 11, center right).
Each cup measures approx. 3 3/4" in diameter at the rim, 1 3/4" diameter at the foot and 2" in height. Saucers measure approx. 5 1/2" in diameter.
