In EUC (Excellent Used Condition). NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS & NO STAINS. There is some minor wear from use; especially to the the gold-painted lip. Being hand-painted, there may be a few minor flaws, but nothing major. Any flaws, if present, will be either written about here in the condition section of the listing OR visible in the photos. This auction is for an pre-1921 Japan antique

The porcelain is translucent & rings like a bell when lightly tapped.
Until 1921, the Japanese used "Nippon," which was the English equivalent of the Japanese word for "Japan".
It was not until 1921 that the United States changed the law so that pieces had to be marked "Japan," not "Nippon."
These laws make it easy for today's collectors to identify Nippon pieces as being made between 1891 & 1921.
The little leaf of the "maple-leaf" mark is only ~0.25 inches wide; according to my online research, this means the vase is an original antique 1891-to-1921 Nippon-era piece rather than a more modern-made piece.
The cafare has a varying pattern of different rose blooms all aorund its circumferrence.

Structure/Composition:
Made of fine TRANSLUCENT white china/porcelain.
Has an olddly-shaped a single handle.  The multi-colored pattern is hand-painted & includes some gold-painted embellishments.

Mark(s):
The underside of the piece is stamp-marked in light-blue ink with an icon of a small maple-leaf icon with "NIPPON" underneath the icon & "HAND PAINTED" in cursive beside it.
