Beautiful Vintage 7 Lucky Gods Kutani Sake Set

Description

Colorful and quirky, this lovely eight piece sake set features the Seven Lucky Gods on both the cups and flask. The single flask has three of the gods gathered on one side, four on the other - what a merry group! Dots of paint on the extravagant fabrics worn by the gods are raised for a touch of moriage texture, lending an extra bit of detail to the hand painted scenes; gleaming gold accents and patterns on the base and neck of the flask complete this elegant piece. The matching cups were painted with the same level of care and detail, each featuring a single god; each cup is patterned around the rims, with scrolls painted on the sides and a Kutani mark on the bottom. The cups are each 2 1/8" wide and 1 3/8" tall, the flask is approximately 2 1/2" at its widest and 4 3/4" tall. This set is in excellent estate condition, with no chips or cracks in 7 out of the 8 pieces. One cup has a chip in the rim with a hairline crack extending downwards on the outside only. ACTUAL
USPS rates and do not include a handling charge. Sometimes, depending on your location, Priority Mail is feasible at the amount paid, in which case your item will be shipped that way. If you feel the shipping charge is too high, contact me prior to bidding, and I may be able to make an adjustment.
If you would like your item shipped by another method (UPS, FedEx, etc), contact me and I will try to accommodate your request. We are happy to combine items to reduce shipping when it doesn't compromise the safety of the items being shipped.
Please note that some heavier items may require additional shipping costs west of the Mississippi River; please contact me for a revised shipping quote.
Handling:
Each item is carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival at its destination. With the cost of boxes, bubble wrap, peanuts, tape, etc., I often spend more on shipping/handling than the buyer is charged.  I usually ship within two business days of the close of auction.  I will notify you if it will run later than that for any reason.
