Clearing out a large collection of left over costumes from various recent Film / TV Productions. This item is NEW and not yet used.NOTE: THIS LISTING IS FOR THE BRASS SHOULDER SCALES ONLY - NOT FOR THE COAT - COAT IS ONLY USED TO SHOW YOU HOW THEY LOOK WHEN USED PROPERLY AND SHOULD BE WORN... (SHOULD BE OBVIOUS, BUT...)
Very Nice complete PAIR of Civil War (and pre-Civil War style) U.S. Union (also worn by Confederates) Brass Rivet style NCO / Enlisted Shoulder Scales A nice reproduction. Will fit any with fittings to sew onto the garment shoulder to fit the scales so they stay on. Nice, new, never worn. Very solidly made, strong fittings.
Brass multi-piece construction NCO Staff shoulder scales. The scales have the distinctive rivet pattern on the surface of the scale. These scales are appropriate for Sergeant Major, Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant, and Regimental Commissary Sergeant. Can also be used for regular Enlisted man if you wish.
Shoulder scales were originally designed to be a form of body armor. The idea was that if a soldier wearing these was struck down by a swordsman, the blow would be diminished by the protecting scales. However, by the American Civil War these scales were worn by Enlisted and NCOs as part of their dress uniform and not for protection.
A Fantastic item with no wear or use. Comes as seen in the photos. A steal at this price and a great looking item for reenacting.
Check out the detailed photos for everything that is cool about this reenacting collectable from the Civil War era.
Buyer pays shipping and I do combine shipping on multiple wins. Please check out my other listings of historical costumes, items and DVDs. Happy bidding and wear in good health. I'm happy for bids outside of the USA, but there would be a higher shipping coat which I will invoice for.
