Description:
This is a perfect set for you to e
njoy Japanese Sake in traditional way.
It consist of a pair of authentic SAKE CUPs and Bizen-ware SAKE FLASK.
Sake Cups:
These are antique Japanese lacquerware cups to drink Sake, which were made:
- to be used at tea ceremony or auspicious events, where highest quality utensils are used
- by a prominent artist
in Wajima, a mecca of Japanese lacquerware,
before 1940
- using highest quality materials such as gold and urushi (=japan)
Please review the photos, and you will recognize the high quality of work.
The depicted flowers on each of cups are (1)
Chrysanthemum (=left hand side of photo #2) and (2)
Cherry (=right hand side). As for the c
ondition, both
are in e
xcellent condition.
White (shining) parts on photographs are reflection of light, i.e. not a blemish.
Sake Flask:
This is NOT used, a
Bizen-ware Sake Flask called Tokkuri in Japanese.
This was made by a very popular Bizen-ware potter MEZAWA Takashi.
By using this Tokkuri, you can enjoy Japanese sake at chilled, room temperature, or hot.
And if you would like, you can use this as a small vase to put seasonal flower into it (photo #4).
FYI. The Sake bottle in the photo #12 is 720 ml. It is not a part of this offering. Just to give you an idea about the size of the Sake Cups.
