    Description

    PAIR of JAPANESE SATSUMA CUPS
    Birds and flowers are delicately hand-painted on cream-colored
    pottery and
    covered with a fine,
    crackled glaze. There are soft
    washes of color in the background.
    There is exquisite detail in the gold painted outlines and small dots
    which
    give definition
    to the design.
    There's also a floral design painted
    in the
    bottom of each cup. Handles and rims are trimmed in gold.
    Each cup is approximately 2" high and 3" diameter (excluding
    the handle).
    Condition is very good. There is a chip in the foot ring of one cup (see
    last photo).
    Otherwise there are no other chips or cracks in these cups.
    There are
    no stains
    inside the cups (or outside either). Any wear that
    is present
    is minor and
    in keeping with their age.
