Houston North Shoreby Charles C. Robinson and Paul L. DeVeter II - Bulletin #133 of the Central Electric Railfans' Association
Submitted for your perusal,
Houston North Shore.
Another excellent volume from the Central Electric Railfan's Association (CERA). Of course it's exhaustively researched and replete with 100's of rare black and white photos. To those who didn't know (like me), the title belies the lines' surprising parentage. I had no idea the Missouri Pacific ran such large transit operation. Cool! Great images balanced with informative text. This outfit looks like the "king" of railbuses. They've got to be one of the biggest users of all. There's even a little bit on their connection to the Humble Oil Company.
This is one of the rare occasions that one of our duplicate or surplus books is in excellent condition. It looks like it just got pulled off the book shop shelf! The only defect is that the page edges have begun to yellow. As most books age this way, I'm not going to hold this against it. Everything else about this book is like new or excellent. Almost no shelf wear, no tears, dings, dog ears, or wrinkles. I wish all our donated books were this good. It sure would make my life easier!
What the hell? I just checked and there ten copies of this thing for sale here on eBay! Dang it! I thought for a moment I'd cut a fat hog in the butt with this. Oh well. I guess I'll have to undercut (again) the competition. Our loss, your gain.
The sale of the book benefits the pandemic pummeled Pacific Railroad Museum operated by the Pacific Railroad Society; a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation.
After close of auction, this item will ship on the following Tuesday. Thanx for looking
