    Description

    For the discriminating collector, is this
    classic vintage Mitchell
    308UL, FIRST VERSION, FIRST RELEASE spinning reel that is in
    nice condition. Based on the serial# 0012085,
    this reel was made in France in 1958. The Patent# is 2.726.052
    and was issued on December 5, 1955. As you can see, "FRONCE"
    is molded into the side of the housing. Also this early version
    has the round slotted nut on the axel vs. the hex nut found on
    later reels. This reel was made prior to "FRANCE" being stamped
    on the foot and "GARCIA" being printed on the side of the frame
    in front of Mitchell.
    Mechanically, the reel works fine. The bail is nice and
    snappy, the anti-reverse and clicker work perfectly when
    properly engaged. Drag also works correctly.
    Cosmetically, the reel paint is in bad condition as depicted by the pics.
    The chrome is in good condition on the bail wire. The spring loaded handle
    is nice and
    straight with nice chrome. The're pretty much paint issues all
    over the reel, I tried to capture them in the pictures.
