Antique 19c Hand-Painted Japanese Demitasse Set
Featuring delicate flowers and a bird!
A lovely Japanese garden has been delicately and lightly painted on this demitasse cup and saucer set! Unlike the lush scenes found on many Satsuma-era pieces, this set excels in the spaces between the paintings. The open space seems to invite the opening and clearing of the mind, creating a relaxing void as a pause to a busy day. A soft palette soothes rather than shouts, and delicate, white eggshell porcelain reminds you to move slowly and enjoy the moment.
The gently hand-painted set features a late-summer Japanese garden. Chrysanthemums bloom in the center of the saucer along a meandering stream, matching the blossoms found on the cup. A curious songbird comes to investigate the lush garden.
This set is likely from the mid-to-late 19c Japan, as evidenced by the lack of any country-of-origin mark.
Condition:
This cup and saucer set is in NEAR MINT condition! It has little to no surface wear, and no major flaws, repairs, or other defects besides some light crazing on the saucer. Even the gold gilt edging is almost completely preserved (including around the mouth of the cup), lending credence to this cup being unused and only carefully displayed!

Returns:
I accept a no-questions-asked money back return policy granted the request is made up to 30 days after the item arrives. It is your responsibility to return the item to me in the same condition it was sent to you. If the item is returned in an inferior condition as to how it was sent, a full return might not be granted.
