    Description

This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment.  Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes.
    An outstanding reproduction of a
    M1832 Pattern, Pre-Civil War U.S. Militia style Enlisted Man’s Tailcoat / Frock Coat –
Typical style worn often by Militia soldiers across American between the 1820s - 1850s.  Tailcoat made of a nice, soft Navy Blue Wool and is trimmed in white (Infantry) cotton trim and with nice brass slightly-domed buttons.
Worn only once for a recent museum film production, but still clean and sharp.  No doubt, one of the only and nicest reproduction of this style 19th century Army coat you will find on eBay or anywhere!  These were made to represent the 1840s Mormon "Nauvoo Legion."
9 plain brass buttons buttons down the front of the jacket, 4 on each of the "V-open" cuffs, as well as 6 on the non-working decorative pockets on the tails, 2 on the back belt area and 2 sewn to right and left side of the very high, correctly stiff collar; collar is also piped in white cotton trim.
Interior is lined in a black cotton with sleeves fully lined in off-white cotton. No interior pockets and the tails are also lined in Navy Blue wool.  Pockets also trimmed with the white cotton tape.  Sleeves are very long, but this is the style for this type of coat - the cuffs are supposed to fall at your knuckles, not the wrist - BUT, the cuffs can be shortened if you wish.  This would be easy.
An excellent, rare style coat and these are truly MADE TO FIT TRUE TO SIZE!!!  Measure your chest before ordering (with a tape measure).  This is supposed to have a tight fit and you must be sure you wear this size before ordering.  I cannot take a return if you are just going by the size in your modern clothing (those sizes are wrong!).
Marked and measured as a true 40” chest.
    Armpit-to-Armpit:
    20 1/2”
    Waist:  19 1/2"
    Sleeve Length:
    31

    Body Length (Front): 19”
    Body Length (Back): 38”
An excellent reproduction for the price and a nice coat for Antebellum re-enacting, living history, Neo-Victorian and Steampunk.
