RARE VINTAGE ISOTRON FIGUREMAGIC QUACK MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS DEVICE

Description

This is a rare Isotron Figuremagic quack medical device, an electrical muscle stimulator.  Claimed effortless weight reduction.  The US District Court in Dallas filed a permanent injunction against Isotron Figure machines as medical quackery soon after they came onto the market in 1966.  The injunction complaint stated among other things that some of the people who allegedly benefitted from these machines actually had a financial interest and had not experienced any benefits at all.  The Isotron Figuremagic is mentioned in the US Senate Hearing on Quack Medical Devices in 1967, see https://www.aging.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/publications/1171967.pdf, page 187.
The Figuremagic appears to be complete.  Includes the machine in hard case, pads, water bottle, belts, and the instruction brochure.  Someone has written in pencil the original price of 5.58.
