Here is a great reproduction of a Federal Tarred Haversack used during the Civil War period. It was a Union issued item that some likely fell into Confederate hands through capture. The "tarring" is complete and new. Old Brian has researched, studied and reproduced cloth items pretty much the whole 47 years I've known him. Does fine work. He even hand sewed the inner bag's three button holes! Crazy. This has never been carried, just hung in my workroom for the 8 or 9 years I've had it. Time for me to thin out my stuff so that my wife and kids won't have to deal with it all when I croak. It has a bag inside attached by (3) tin buttons.
