The Red Arrow - A History of one of the Most Successful Suburban Transit Companies in the World.
This is the story of the "Red Arrow Lines of the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company. This is probably the most comprehensive work on the subject. Over four hundred pages of historic photos, maps, car diagrams, stats and of course the stories. Not just a big operator, they were an innovator as well. They designed their own "Bullet" type cars. This book weighs a ton. So it must have everything. And it does. It starts from the Philadelphia and West Chester days all the way up to SEPTA. Cool fold out diagrams of some of the cars.  I'm probably preaching to the choir here. If you found this item at all, you're a fan. So lets get to the bad news.
The front cover is separating from the binding. See images. It will need repair. There is also a very unattractive remnant of a label that was torn off inelegantly by the previous owner. No dust jacket. That being said, the book has a few years left if it is carefully handled. The back cover is still attached to the binding. Pages are not falling out. Lots of book repair videos on YouTube! So, we hope that you can see your way clear to bid on it. I think the importance of the content, supersedes its faults. It's long out of print and kind of rare. Internet says some copies are going for .00! So ours is really a bargain. Warts and all. So, please note:
