    Description

Authors Martin Hansen, Steve Hauff and Dale Saunders spent 30 years researching Baldwin Locomotive Works design and production of 44 highly specialized locomotives rolled off the line at the Eddystone, PA plant. These articulated steam engines were destined for the forests, hauling timber over steep grades or tight curves to regional sawmills between 1909 and 1937. Presented in construction order number these Mallets were each built for their specific buyer. The authors present each locomotive in finite detail with action and roster shots, construction data, and more. This is a 256-page b&w and color book printed in a slightly oversized oblong format on gloss paper. New shrinkwrapped copy. Retail is .95.
