This is a heavy duty replacement vacuum check valve for Dodge/Chrysler/Mopar part number 4306923 and it is a direct fit with no modifications needed.
If you are experiencing 'wild vents' on your 2nd generation Dodge pickup (mine is a 1997) this check check valve could be your problem. I was experiencing the loss of face vents under acceleration that would return once I let off of the throttle (known as 'wild vents') and my check valve that supplies vacuum to the dash was bad. There is one on the passenger side of the intake manifold and one near the firewall also on the passenger side. I had a hard time finding a replacement that would be a direct fit so I sourced these.
Heavy duty, fuel and heat resistant. Polypropylene housing and Viton (tm) seal with a temperature range of -40°F to +450°F
This will fit a wide range of vehicles. Please verify the part number on your old part with a magnifying glass or by taking a picture and blowing it up. Also, to check the operation of your old valve, you should be able to blow air through it in one direction, but not in the other.
Approximately 3/4" diameter and 1 5/8" in length (the same size as original except white instead of black in color)
