his ceremonial porcelain tea cup is made by the Master Potter Genemon Tatebayashi.
He is the sixth generation master potter of the Genemon kiln of Arita, one of the most prosperous of Arita kilns.
Arita is a pottery kiln in the Saga Prefecture, Japan.
The three Emon of Arita are Kakiemon, Imaemon and Genemon.
As Master Potters, they are those with the highest evaluations of any potter in Arita.
The sixth Genemon Tatebayashi passed away in 1989 and the story probably carries more history in recent times, as the handing off to the succeeding apprentice from the Master Potter was not done at the time of his passing.
