    THIS AUTOGRAPH WAS SENT TO AN AMERICAN RESEARCHER BY HIS SON IN 1974.
    * JAMES H. COLLIER (b.1893-d.1973)
    JOINED THE NAVY DURING WW1, STARTING IN KEY WEST.  HE WENT ONTO ENGLAND WHERE HE SERVED ON THE R-32, R-38/ZR-2, R-80 AND THEN LAKEHURST NAVAL AIR STATION TO SERVE AS CREWMEMBER OF THE ** ZR-1 USS SHENANDOAH SURVIVING THE DISASTER.  HE LATER SERVED ON THE
    ZR-3/LZ-126 USS LOS ANGELES.

    ** ZR-1 USS Shenandoah
    was the first of four United States Navy rigid airships. It was constructed during 1922–23 at Lakehurst Naval Air S developed the U.S. Navy's experience with rigid airships, and made the first cross country flight by airship. On the 57th flight, ZR-1 USS She in a squall line over Ohio in September 1925. Fourteen crew members, including Commander Zachary Lansdowne, were killed.
