This is a set of vintage Japanese pottery Sake pot & Sake cups of Satsuma ware, which was made about 30 years ago.
The signature of the potter is carved on the bottom of the pot.
(About Satsuma ware)
Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese earthenware pottery. It originated in the late 16th century, and is still produced today. Satsuma ware is classified into 2 types, White Satsuma and Black Satsuma.
White Satsuma ware is produced using Kinrande techniques where numerous colors and designs are applied with ample amounts of gold. The very intricate patterns are repeated many times to produce Kinrande. By observing tradition, elegant art pieces are crafted for admiration. Today, there are many potters producing black Satsuma ware, however, our kiln is the only producer of white Kinrande Satsuma ware.
