    Description

This is the celebrated tribute to the
    California Zephyr,
arguably the finest streamlined passenger train
ever to operate in the western United States.  More of a love story than a train book, writers and photographers Ted Benson and Bruce MacGregor have compiled the most detailed history imaginable of the passenger train that encapsulated the ultimate in rail travel during the "golden era" of rail passenger service.
The book itself is remarkably attractive in its silver hard cover and matching slipcase imprinted with the famous "California Zephyr" logo.  At 358 pages it contains literally hundreds of sharp black & white photos by dozens of photographers of the train inside and out, taken at dozens of locations on its journey between Chicago and San Francisco.
The book is in excellent condition with no discernible blemishes.  The book was published with a dust jacket, which was missing at the time it was acquired.  It won't be missed, as the slipcase provides an attractive and protective cover for the book and will look smart on your library shelf.
